Illustration for The Ailp King's Children

I've been reading Scottish/English folk stories.  I've been doing an illustration for The Ailp King's children.   A bit of story might be good here as  it may not be well known here.  The Druid's defeated the Ailps and killed the Ailp king.  The King's daughter was changed to green and her brother,was changed to a greyhound, save a human tongue. Both banished back to their father's castle.   The story did provide a way for them to break the spell.  The illustration here is King Urbhih pleading for his freedom from the Green Princess.  Her brilliant brother, the greyhound,  devises a plan to end the evil spells of the Druid's, enlist the help of King Urbhih, and of course, live happily ever after.

Today's illustration is from Romeo's Rescue by Emma and Jennifer Reed. I dedicated this book to Irene Mayer, my mother's long time friend ( 65 years) who rescued stray cats. Published by Guardian Angel Publishing.
